XP OEM Issue & Wireless Optical Desktop

I recently purchased a Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop.
It has a minor flaw. Sometimes on restart the optical
mouse won't work. This requires numerous reboots.
I thought it would be good to ask Microsoft for
information on this issue.
I tried. Microdoft refused to accept my request. It seems
that when I purchased from a commercial vendor a copy of
Windows XP Professional, the product was coded as if it
were sold to a computer builder, which I am not!
Microsoft refers me to me and seeing as how I can't help
me, I was hoping someone in the "ether" could.
Two issues - where can I get a driver that will work with
XP?
- how do I convince micrsoft I'm not a computer builder?
Any help will be appreciated.

Call up for support on your Microsoft hardware. That's not OEM, is it?
It's not the OS that has stopped functioning, it's your Microsoft
Wireless Optical Desktop that has.

As for the OEM software, MS does not care if you're a system builder or
not, because your software is system builder software.

"Trustworthy Computing" is only another example of an Oxymoron!
"Produkt-Aktivierung macht frei!"

It's unfortunate that I can't convince them that I'm not
what I am not (hope that makes sense). Thanks for the
advice. I appreciate it.
