I have been having a frustrating problem with some of the new PC's I have
placed into our network. Often, XP pro doesn't respond to opening programs
such as IE, Word, etc. You can dbl click and dbl click and nothing happens.
Outlook, which is usually already open, becomes unresponsive also. You can
click the mouse around and highlight icons and etc just fine but not even the
start button will come up. I do a Ctrl-Alt-Del and Task Mgr does come up and
shows the system at 99% idle. Once you reboot or if you really wait it out,
it works great again. I can't seem to pinpoint what is causing this. Every
PC is joined to a good HP Procurve switch with certified wiring and the
Server is a Windows 2000 Standard File Server. Only the newer XP pro pc's
are doing this. The Windows 2000 PC's I have run just fine.
Thanks in advance for any help
