XP Network Password Problem

Have a laptop running WinXP pro that just came into the
office from the field. User is continually being locked
out of the server. Have traced it to the laptop because
if I disconnect the laptop from the server and log in
from another work station, the user does not get locked
out.

Updated Norton definitions did not detect a virus from
normal and safe mode.

Laptop had a previous MyDoom virus while out in the field
which was cleaned.

Any ideas?

It is possible that he has changed his netowrk password
when he was logged into another PC and the network
password that is stored in his laptop for background
processes has not been changed. Have him log into the
network with his laptop and press CTRL-ALT-DEL and click
on CHANGE PASSWORD. This will change his network
password and the password stored on his laptop.
