XP "Message Text" font size for visually impaired

Hello,

A coworker of mine is visually impaired and recently upgraded to a
machine running XP.

She is having all kinds of problems changing her font settings to the
way they were on her '98 machine. Currently, she has two primary
problems:

1. The font size has succesfully been increased on every application,
except the "message text" on the dialogue boxes. I hope that I am
describing this accurately..... when she clicks on "Open file" from
Word (for example) the font of the file names is large, but the font
for the words "look in" or "save in" is still small - the default
size, which appears to be 12 pt. She simply CANNOT read this font.
Even our IT folks have not been able to figure out how to change this,
but in fairness to them, they've been swamped for the past two days
installing patches on every machine after the Blaster worm entered our
network. I've tried absolutely everything to help her - I went to
display/appearance/Message box*message text, but her computer doesn't
show the same commands that mine (2000) does. There seems to be *no
way* to make this text larger!

2. Her pointer size is much smaller than it was on her '98 machine.
In the "Pointers" settings, it is set to "Windows Standard Extra
Large" in the "scheme" tab.

I suspect that there is actually no way to fix these problems, but I
thought I would try here as a last resort.

I'm looking forward to the input of anyone who might be able to help.

Thank you in advance.

-Ginny
