XP Memory Tweaks

I am about to upgrade my laptop from 256MB to 1GB. Any suggestion on
how I should tweak XP to take advantage of this new amount of RAM?

Keep in mind that some programs won't run correctly and from there you will
need to alter the maxmem under Start/Run/Msconfig/Boot.ini/Advanced.

Please DON'T. XP will do its thing just FINE. IF, and ONLY if you have
performance issues, consdier mucking with page file optimization. DO
NOT under any circumstances download any third party program to
"optimize" your computer. Especally if you saw it in a banner ad or
pop-up. Even if a friend tells you it's great.
