xp media center/dvd

Hi and good day. I have xp media center and when I put a DVD in, it defaults
to that. I want it to default to another application to watch a DVD, but I
cannot find how to remove media center as my default DVD player. Any help?

Goto Add/Remove Programs, set Program Access and Defaults
Expand the Custom section, and under the Choose a Media Player section,
select the Media Center DVD radio box and unselect "Enable accesss to this
program"

Hi Gary, thanks for responding. I had already tried that and it didn't work.
When I unselected it to disable it, then put the DVD in the drive, it still
opened Media Center and not the other DVD program. I even have the other
program defaulted to play the DVD. I am not sure why eveytime I put the DVD
in the drive it automatically opens Media Center. Any other ideas? Thanks.

Right click the DVD drive in My Compter, then properties autoplay pick the
app you need

Hi Richard. I tried that as well with no luck. I have tried everything that
I know of. I even made InterActual my default DVD player and it will still
open media center when I load the cd. I right clicked on the drive where the
dvd is in, selected autoplay, selected dvd movie and have tried selecting
which app, and have also clicked on "prompt me..." but it still does not
work. This is very strange. Any other suggestions? Thanks again. Dr. P.
