Make sure that both PC's are in the same workgroup or rejoin them to
new workgroup all together. Right-click "My Computer
properties...then go to the Computer name tab. Make sure in th
workgroup field, the names on both PC's match. If that doesn't work
I'd make sure that any firewall software is off. You'll need to tur
on the dynamic IP addressing on your router because it's the one tha
manages ip addresses within your network. You can email me a
(e-mail address removed) if you have any more questions. Jus
curious...do you have XP Pro or Home?

*both pcs see each other if i manually set tcip settings to manua
192.168.2.2 etc. but if I change the setting to auto ip address th
pcs cannot connect. I added a router that wants me to use auto i
address. This does work connecting to the internet but
can't see other pc. I tried to configure router to use a static ip o
the lan side but i still can't get it to work.
Router support blames Microsoft and won't help.
