I have a 20 user xppro/home network thats connected to 2003 std server
setup as a workgroup fileserver our ip range is 10.0.0.2 - 100

all workstations are named with user or job name in mind.
I set up an account on server to drive d: (files and folders) for all users.
everybody used to have to logon with there username and password.
for no reason I can find some of these workstations are not requiring them to
use password or username, they are connected at logon

1. there are no mapped drives
2. the box in unchecked to reconnect at logon.
3. the machine / workstation has no password and the username on computer
is usually not the same as the user account on server.

Help please though some users like having no logon
I fell totally exposed

Best will be to ask one of the users to change the local PC password, logon
with the new password and see still if he could access the share with not
giving the credentials.
If he could probably try to change the password for the user on the server
and see if they still could connect.

Bet you those are the ones with XP Home installed, XP Pro will not have this
problem. XP Home is not equiped to handle this
