XP Logon/Logoff Screens changed

After adding a second user to the system, the default
logon & logoff screens changed in my friend's WinXP
computer.

It never had a logon screen to begin with... it just went
into his logon name. And the logoff screen used to be
the window with three buttons: "switch user", "logoff",
and "cancel" (or is it shutdown?).

The second user account has been deleted because the
other person no longer uses the machine. Can anyone tell
me how to change these screens back to default?
