XP LOGIN

When i log on to my computer xp logs me right back out, instantaneously. I
see my background and it reverts to the login screen. What can be done to fix
this. Thank you for any help.

Ah that old favourite... Try this

At Recovery console (boot from CD and select that option)
d:
cd i386
expand explorer.ex_ c:\windows\
expand userinit.ex_ c:\windows\system32\

If that doesn't work, you'll need some way of editing the regsitry from
a command line...
