XP login shows a number of unread massages that is inconsistent.

The number shown during the XP login does not match with the messages not
read and this is happening using Outlook 2007.
I used the "mark all read" command for all folders and I ran also SCANPST
for both outlook.pst and backup.pst files but nothing happened.
 
I found the reply in a question made on 3/23/2006 in this discussion group
where the suggestion is to download and use tweakUI from Microsoft powertoys
