XP immediately logs me off after I sign in (any account, including admin)
I used the XP boot cd to attempt to do the USERINIT copy fix, but don't see
the USERINIT file in the SYSTEM32 directory.
any help on this issue would be appreciated

Hi,

Have you tried the usual searches for spyware/malware with tools like
Lavasoft Adaware and Spybot Search & Destroy?

I can only get into my hard drive with the XP disk, so not able to do much of
anything.
Would like to know if the USERINIT file is suposed to exist in the SYTEM32
directory, I'm using SP2, as before any help would be appreciated

I can't find the DLLCache folder, but found the USERINIT.ex_ file in the I386
directory.
It has a read attribute, and I cant get it to expand. What do I need to do?
