XP Loading to Black Screen

Windows XP boots up normally and begins to load with the
bars scrolling horizontally across the screen, theres a
brief glitch in the image, then the screen goes virtually
black with several colored pixels at the top edge, barely
noticeable. The computer is then frozen and must be
unplugged to reboot properly. Windows will load fine in
safe mode, and I have tried several restores to no avail.
Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi,

If it loads fine in Safe mode, then I'd say you have a display adapter
problem. EIther you need to reinstall/update the driver, or check the
refresh rate.
