And you are guilty of reading more than the OP stated in his post.
Nowhere did the OP state that he had "retail" SP1 disks.

He said that he wanted to do this to "avoid"
downloading the SP1 update which would be required to slip stream a
new installation CD.

There is absolutely no difference in the key algorithm between RTM &
SP1. Have you actually tried to use a RTM Key with SP1 media
yourself? I have and it's works.

Please spread your FUD when I'm not around and you might get away
with
it next time.

You likely used a slipstreamed XP SP1 disk with an RTM key, which
will work.

Sounds like you are slipping a bit. Are you actually starting to
believe your top posted tagline? You were in my killfile for over a
year, I brought you back once you attained the status of newsgroup
clown, but it sounds like your headed for the bit bucket again.

Now let's see you tell Alex & Mike that they are wrong too. Or are you
smart enough to keep your FUD to yourself now?
