XP keeps reverting my network to MSHOME

Monica

In the last 2 weeks, 2 of our 3 XP laptops on our network
are losing their connections and we go through the "set up
a network" and it's changed it from ours to MSHOME.
Despite re-running this wizard 7 times a day, it will
still change back to MSHOME and we lose our connection.
Today, I can run the setup wizard back to back and do
nothing in between, and it still says MSHOME.

Thanks for your help,
Monica

try to setup it manually without using the wizard.

I'm sorry, but I don't know why the workgroup name is changing.
However, the workgroup name has nothing to do with losing your
connection. Something else is wrong.

If you'll post another news group message with full details of the
situation, someone should be able to help. Describe the network
hardware and protocol setup. Explain what you mean by "we lose out
connection", give the complete text of all error messages, etc.

If you check, is your internet firewall protection enabled?
What kind of router are you using?
Is your IP address given to you by the router, or by a dedicated DHCP
server?

Answer these three questions and it'll help sort you out faster.
