xp keeps rebooting on its own

After installing SP1a my system keeps rebooting on its
own and wont give the log on screen.

I had this problem.

I solved it by booting from the WindowsXP CD and going
into the repair console.

In the console, I ran 'ChkDsk C:' and exited.

Then reboot as normal.
