Hi There,

We have just purchased some new HP XW6000 high spec
machines with a Matrox dual video cards installed. The
problem we are having is with the two screen hooked up to
the one pc when the users have an active window spread
accross both screen and they lock there machines once they
return to there machines and unlock the active window has
jumped to the most prominent screen. This may not seem
annoying but we are a trading firm and some of our traders
have 4-5 monitors and when they have there trading
software open and all there windows are arranged, some
accross both screen, some windows may only have a small
part visable and the rest moved off the screen when the
machines are locked and unlocked they have too spend a bit
of time re-arranging there windows. This is annoying them
as all information is secure so they have to lock there
machines all the time. It only seems to be a XP issue as
we have NT and W2K machines and this does not happen. I
have spoken with HP and they said it is not there problem
as they did not supply the Matrox cards, I have also
spoken with Matrox and they have never heard of the
problem before and I called my Microsoft helpline number
here in Ireland who are always really useful but not on
this occasion as it was an OEM version of XP which shipped
with the HP PC. I hope there is someone out there with an
answer as I am at a loss now.

I hope the above is undertsandable as it is difficult too
put into words.

Cheers
Pete

I have been able to repro this problem. At the moment, it looks like this
problem only occurs when the machine is joined to a domain. A temporary
work-around may be to join a workgroup instead.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Peter,

Do you have a contact for your company or contact information I can pass on
and associate with this issue?
