XP Join to 2000 Domain

Hello.

I have a Win2000 server with AD. All my clients are XP. I have had to
reformat a client, so when entering its computer name, i gave it the same
name it had before. I joined it to the domain (which went ok), but as soon
as it came to log on, it would take ages to log on or just not log on (would
get to leading settings screen). Is there an easy way to fix this (i don't
want to change the computer name). Will deleting the computer from AD
console resolve this?

assuming you have correct DNS setup, delete the computer from AD and re-join
the domain.
