Hi,
I just kicked the old mice out of the house and bought a whole bunch of new
ones. The nice guys at the shop put them together for $40. This may have been
a mistake as they connected the card / floppy reader before installing Xp.
Now my main drive with windows etc. is "F".

I suspect this might cause future inconveniences if not actual trouble. It
actually seems to be giving some on the first application I instaled (Spybot
S&D).

Do you think I should reformat and 'correct' this before I go any further or
will it not likely make a difference.

My "Xp home" is new and has been registered with this computer. Will I face
registration difficulties when I reinstall?

Thanks for any advice,

Gerry

Usually when xp ends up with a diffrent letter than C: is due to having other
devices plugged into the pc during installation. You should reinstall xp as C:
is its default letter, only plug in the needed till xp is
installed......PS.boot to xp
cd to reinstall & format.

Mine is on J: .. everything works as expected as long as you have a C:
primary to accommodate the poorly written software you may come across.
