xp installation

I installed xp and my hd has a d and c drive. The message was install on the
D drive because some information may be lost. Therefore, I have xp installed
and it seemes to be working ok but it isn't on the C drive and I have no
sound on the d drive but the C drive sounds works perfect.

Any help will be appreciated.

You created a dual boot with whatever you had on C: and XP
installed on the D: drive. Your sound card did not have an
XP driver on the XP CD, so you don't have sound.

There is an upgrade compatibility program on the XP CD, run
that to see what hardware and software problems you will
have to fix or work-around. You can do the install again,
use ESC to pause the install, select to format the current
partitions and start with a clean hard drive, that will fix
the dual boot and C-D drive issues. You can download the
needed drivers and save them on a CD-R or at least make a
list of what you'll need to get after the XP install is
done.

Be sure to backup and write down all your settings/passwords
and export your favorites, email and addressbook, formatting
will erase them.
