I bought my new pc with XP installed. What happens if I
need to re-install it for some reason?

Different manufacturers have it set up differently.

Hopefully, your computer manufacturer included a "recovery partition" and a
means to access it. Typically, the recovery partition is "hidden" but
there's either a special floppy, special cd, or other means to activate it.

You could also try asking the computer maker to send you a set of recovery
CDs.


Note - typically recover CDs erase your HD and restore your PC to it's
factory-fresh state.
