XP installation repair requires activation but screen is blank

System errors prompted an xp installation repair but the original OEM disk
did not have SP2. A copy of an XP disk with SP2 was used for the repair but
now requires activation. The activation screen comes up blank. A search of
the knowledge base and this communty forum did not reveal how to solve this
problem. Is there a way to fix this problem without erasing all programs and
data?

Thanks Patti,

I was able to finally get the activation done but the repair installation
did not fix the problem of both explorer and internet explorer acting
erratically. Still working on the system but not close to nukeing it yet.

You're welcome, Ron. I'm glad to hear that you were finally able to get the
activation done :)

I wish you luck solving the problems that prompted the reinstallation in the
first place, and hope that you manage to work it out before having to nuke
the system.

Regards,
