XP installation on a new system

I have a newly built [DIY] system using an ASUS
motherboard with a RAID configuration. XP setup will not
recognize the HDDs.
How do I get it to install?

You did not state it, so I have to ask..

Did you press F6 during the first part of the setup (after booting with the
Windows XP CD) and install the drivers for your RAID?
