XP Installation on a new Harddrive/Controller Card Combo

I've recently purchased a Western Digital WD1200JB 120GB
hard drive and Highpoint Rocket 100 host adapter card.
During XP Pro set-up I'm instructed to press F6 to install
the drivers for my controller card; however, nothing
happens when I do this. The keystroke is ignored and
installation fails. I've checked and the F6 key does
funtion properly. Any ideas.
 
A lot of times this depends on the timing, if F6 continues to not respond,
if possible try another keyboard.
