XP installation freezes

I can't install windows XP Professional upgrade version
from windows 2000. I just got a new hard drive. When the
installation gets to the "installing devices" part it
freezes, if it does that i have to reinstall the previous
operating system again (ex.windows 2000). i have a ibm
thinkpad t21 laptop and I have a Toshiba 60GB hard drive,
I don't know if that's the problem or if there's a
conflict.

Michael, I didnt see your laptop on the WinXP Hardware Compatability List
or Catalog. Do you have Win2KPro if not
that might be your problem. The path is from Win2kPro to WinXPPro.
