I had to buy a new hard drive, but I can't find an
installation disk for Windows XP (it was pre-installed
when I purchased the computer). Anyone know how I can get
one?

Call your oem(the maker of the computer). They are required to give you some
means to restore the computer back to factory condition. This may be by
means of a restore cd or a real xp cd or xp installed on a hidden partition
on the original drive.

You'll have to purchase a "full version" of Windows XP.
Apparently, your old hard drive contained a "hidden partition"
which is a Windows XP recovery method. You cannot access
this "hidden partition" now, nor can it be transferred to a new
hard drive.

Contact the company who sold it to you. They may be willing to
help you.
