XP INSTALL

WHEN INSTALLING WINXP PRO TO A LAPTOP WITH A NEW HARD DRIVE IT WILL NOT
CONTINUE TO INSTALL AFTER THE FIRST REBOOT. IT'S GIVING ME A MESSAGE
"SETUP IS RESTARTING" THEN A BLANK SCREEN
 
Did you have WinXP Pro installed before you replaced the hard drive?
 
Do you have an OEM version of XP, or a retail version? Some OEM versions are
computer-brand dependent and will not install on every computer. This is
especially true in regard to laptops.

Many OEM versions of XP cannot be transferred to a different computer. That
is one reason why they sell for a lot less than the retail versions.
 
even if it formats and install all xp files and drivers. after that is
when i have the problem
