XP Host - Vista Client On Adhoc Network

Hello,

I have a problem and I really don't understand where is the problem.
I have 2 laptops (wifi ready). The server is XP SP2, the client Vista Home
Premium. the XP is wired connected to internet and I intend to connect Vista
to internet through XP using an ad-hoc network. After I created the ad-hoc
network on XP, in the list of available wireless networks i found my ad-hoc
network. Vista can see the SSID (with WEP) too, but... and I try to connect
from Vista to XP is not working at all! The set the 192.168.0.1/255.255.255.0
ip on the xp's wireless adapter, and 192.168.0.2/255.255.255.0 on the vista's
wireless adapter; the ICS is enabled, firewall disabled, Norton Secutity
uninstalled, same workgroup and so on...

My question is: Where is the problem? On XP - is not capable to accept
connections? Vista is not capable to connect at an ad-hoc network?

On XP in event viewer I found "Association status : Fail 0x00038002" and
0x00028002

Can somebody tells me what I have to do to solve that problem?

Thank you in advance

Cosmin

The problem is the XP which is ICS host uses the same IP range. These links
may help too.

Thank you Robert,

Before trying this stuff, can you describe me the perfect (or the more
appropiate) scenario to use the two laptops in the same network, capable to
share between them the files/printers and internet. I mean a wired
internet-modem, 2 wireless laptop , one with xp(server) and vista(client)
and xp wired connected to the modem.

Thank you a lot for yours attention,

Cosmin
