Got this list from some tech years ago and it sure
helped when I had some problems 6 months ago.
Keep this info/stuff in a safe place after assembly.
------------------------------
first-aid kit
[___] Startup diskettes
[___] Backup your data
[___] Windows installation CD-ROM's
[___] Software Installation CD'S
[___] Hardware Drivers
[___] User Manuals
[___] Passwords (disk and on paper)
[___] Technical Support numbers
[___] Product serial/ID numbers

The Windows XP CDs are bootable. Make sure you have this enabled in
your BIOS, then put the XP CD in the drive and boot the machine. The
Windows XP setup should run automatically.
If you want a very basic boot disk, so as say to add a BIOS flash
program to it, go to My Computer, r-click the drive, Format and take the
option to 'make 'MSDOS Startup disk'
But that has just the basic command.com - not any 'external' DOS
commands. For anything more extensive use a Win98 startup floppy,
remembering that DOS will not 'see' an NTFS Hard disk partition
