xp-home question

just a question reguarding a purchase of a "used" xp-home
upgrade cd.
if the seller gives their activation id with the cd, and
does not have that windows on their pc.. can that cd be
installed and activated on a differant pc without any
troubles..
it is a retail copy which has been used before but they no
longer use that version.

You should receive all documentation that originally came with the CD. See

Michael,

Sorry off topic but read your post and looked at your web
pages.

I like the Outlook News Reader hint, but just wanted to
let you know the method has changed a bit for Outlook
2003.

You actually have to customize the toolbar and add "news"
under the "go" menu to trigger the setup.

Thought you might want to add the hint.

Provided that it has been so removed and is a retail, not an OEM copy,
then it may be transferred, using the seemed installation 25 character
product Key. When it comes to activation, if it is more than 120 days
since you last did it, you will find it will go through on the net just
like first time. If not, you will have to phone a toll-free number that
will be given, to explain and swap one long number for another to check
back as you type it in
