OK before I pull all my hair out !
I have a small home network.
Dell desktop - Windows 2K - cable connect to Linksys
wireless router.
HP printer connected to desktop and shared.
Sony Vaio XP-home. Wireless network connection to internt
(fine) only network requirement to access shared Windows
2K machine printer.
The Windows 2K desktop can see and connect to the XP home
machine, but when the XP home machine tries to connect to
entire network/workgroup I can see the W2K machine but
when double clicking, get login screen. I login using the
XP home login name and password (which I have also setup
as a Username on the W2K machine) and then just get cannot
access network path.
No matter what I do it just won't connect with the W2K
machine. I don't know if it's something to do with the
wireless or W2K machine although I can't see anything
wrong there.
Any thoughts ?
Note W2K machine SR-4 all latest security releases.
