XP Home network problem

Hi,

I've had lots of problems setting up a home network.

I've tried all the suggestions in the Microsoft KB. Still nothing.

Both computers are physically networked, and I can see the network
connection in the network window and the connection says it's fine.

The issue is that whenever I try to look at the computers that are networked
I get a message saying that I don't have permission.

I tried the network diagnostic program and it says that it can't ping my
network adapter?

I have copied the IPCONFIG ALL information as noted below:

Kulander,

The "access denied" and variants can have many causes. One of the most common
causes of this problem would be a misconfigured or overlooked personal firewall,
or other security component. There are several other possibilities too, and any
might be the cause of your problem. Read this article with an open mind.

For more direct help, provide "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" from each
computer, not just "ipconfig /all" from one, so we can diagnose the problem.
Read this article, and linked articles, and follow instructions precisely
(download browstat!):

Also some idea of how the network is setup would be useful. From what you've
shown us so far, it looks like Study is (was?) a gateway (ICS host maybe?)
connected to dialup or PPPoE service. Am I right so far? Then what is this?

Kulander,

What type of network device are you using? What brand of hub, switch
or router and does it have a built in firewall?
