XP Home MMC Not Working

Hi, I work for a PC repair shop and am having problems with the MMC in Win XP
Home.

The customer un-installed Zone Alarm and now I am unable to get into the MMC
(either as a user or admin in either Safe Mode or regular mode). Does anyone
know if Zone Alarm being removed may have corrupted the MMC? Is there any way
that I can restore/repair the MMC?

Thanks.

Ok, but how do you repair XP? In my case I have XP Home and it is updated
with all current updates, ie. SP2. When I put in my XP disc and click on
install, it says that my current version is newer than the disc and I can't
get it to repair. Anyone know of a workaround?

I would first try System File Checker as in sfc /scannow. If you have a
problem in that is asks you to put in the disk that has XP SP2 files see the
link below on how to edit the registry to modify such to fix that problem.

If that does not fix the problem you will first need to uninstall SP2 in
Control Panel add and remove programs, do the repair install, then install
SP2 again and go to Windows Updates to get needed critical security updates
OR try to create an install disk that has SP2 slipstreamed into it and use
that for your repair install as described in the link below. --- Steve
