XP Home - Folder opens on desktop after logging on

After logging on, the System32 folder opens on the desktop. Log on is normal
otherwise, normal icons and taskbar appear, etc. This only happens on my
son's account when he logs in. No other users have this problem. How can I
stop the System32 folder from appearing and opening when he logs on?

Information by MVP Bruce Chambers:

This can be caused by a blank entry, such as can be left behind by an
incomplete program removal, in the:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and/or
HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run keys.
