I have a problem with sharing files between two computers connected by
a d-link router usign XP home on both. When trying to access a shared
file, I recieve an error stating that the file is not available, check
permissions. When I restart the target computer into safe mode,
everything works fine. The file sharing has been turned on and
functioning for some time until suddenly it ceased. I've checked to
make sure "Server" and "Computer Browser" services were running. I've
booted into safe mode and checked permissions (without safe mode you
cannot access permission settings because of simple file sharing).

I don't know whart else to try. Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Thanks

The complete and exact error would help a lot here. The "access denied" and its
variants have many causes.

The most common cause is a misconfigured or overlooked personal firewall, or
other security component. What antivirus / antitrojan products do you use?

Or maybe restrictanonymous.
