XP Home failing installation process

When installing XP the following happens:
- i choose to install XP
- i format C: drive
- setup copies files
- setup says "rebooting now.. setup will continue after"
- SETUP FAILS TO CONTINUE without reporting any problems
- i receive the same options as BEFORE i chose to install XP

help please ? - I'm using an official purchased copy of XP.. if this crap
continues I'll consider using a pirate copy

You dont say whether this a completely new virgin sys that you purchased or
built, or whether it has been used before so this is generic.

Yeah a pirate copy will get you real far these days.....What else is installed
to the board (other hds,printer,etc),make sure only one hd for C: is
connected,
along with mouse/keyboard.Also,"you format the drive" how are you formatting,
you need to delete the partition first (even if raw),then create one,then xp
formats and installs auto.
