XP Home Edition

You heard right. XP Home Edition is a operating system, not a program that
runs on one.
 
There isn't such a thing. There is the academic edition (includes both), and
there is the Works Suite, which just includes Word. Tom
 
To clarify a little further, "XP Home Edition" refers to a flavor of
*Windows*, and no version of Windows has ever included Word or Excel --
those are parts of *Office* which is sold separately from Windows.
