XP Home Edition

I recently purchased a copy of WINxp Home Edition. I have
not opened the package yet as I'm still assembling my
upgraded PC. I understand that the licensing agreement
includes strict copyright laws. My question is: I have
two computers at home, both are on the network. Can I load
my WINxp copy in both PCs? I have two HDs, can I load the
software in the secondary HD?

One computer one OS... You need two licenses for two
computers. You can buy just a license from MS, but strange
as it seems, it can be less expensive to buy second package
from a discount on-line seller such as www.newegg.com

Not legally. You have to buy a second copy to install it on
the other computer. You can have it installed only once on
one computer at a time, plus the way the activation in XP
works, it won't let you do it.

This is the wonderful thing about free operating systems
like Linux. The licensing for Linux and most other free
software allows you to install it on any number of computers.

You are only allowed under the license to load it on one machine at any
time. Unless you remove from one to install on a different, successor
one. In your case each machine needs its copy

If you have a current system, you can run the upgrade from that and
point the installation location to a different HD. This will set up a
dual boot, initially in the partition of the original system, but using
XP's boot loader

No. The rule is quite clear. It's one copy (or one license) for
each computer.
There's nothing new here. This is exactly the same rule that's
been in effect on every version of Windows. The only thing new
with XP is that there's now an enforcement mechanism.
