Installing WINxp

Don Soriano

I am assembling a new PC using practically new components
(motherboard, CPU, 80G HD,CD-ROM, Floppy, etc.) I am also
installing WINxp Home Edition. I have done something
similar before using WIN98 but I just want to make sure I
don't make any mistakes. After setting up BIOS, can
someone describe briefly (via e-mail) steps to take to
have a functioning system using WINxp. I will add other
paraphanelias later (CD-RW, video, audio, scanner, etc)
after I have a proven operating system.

Thanks

Briefly, here it is:
Make certain you have the following list of things connected:
Power Supply
Video Card
Hard drive
RAM
CD-Rom
Keyboard
Mouse
Monitor

Insert you CD into the Cd-Rom drive and boot your system. Since you
stated that you would have the BIOS already setup, it should boot from
the XP CD. Just follow the on screen prompts for the setup program.

You may want to have your phone handy to call MS to activate XP or wait
until you have your network/dial-up installed to do that but it should
be done withing 30 days.

HTH,
Dave
