XP home edition- web browser formatting problems

We can't figure out why website formatting doesn't come
through with our computer that uses XP home edition.
We've tried all of the explorer settings we can think of
that might make a difference. The scroll bars, buttons,
colors, and fonts are badly affected. Any ideas?

You might try reinstalling IE - the default settings will
probably work OK for you. If that works, then you can fiddle
with changing settings -- one at a time -- to personalize it.
