xp home edition and win2k pro

Running an xp home edition box with sp1 connect to another box that is Win2k
Pro via cross over cable. The Win2k box has Tcp/ip and netbeui, the xp box
has tcp/ip, they are using apipa because there is no dns server. Both boxes
are in the same workgroup. Here's my problem I can see the other machine
from either box but cannto connect. From the Win2k box when I browse then
double click on the XP box I get "network path not found". From the XP to
Win2k I get a permissions error and Network path cannot be found.
How can this possibly be so difficult?
I have disabled the XP firewall on the nic and on the Win2k box I have given
the everyone group full permission to the share.

Check your subnet mask settings, if your computers aren't
using the same subnet, they may not be able to connect.
