Cannot connect to XP Pro network share from Win2k server box

All firewalls turned off. Win2k server is in workgroup mode. On the
Windows 2000 server box I try run - \\xpboxname\sharename and get
prompted with "connect as" and "password". I enter various ids and
password of accounts that exist on the XP box and both the xp box and
win2k server box, and all are accurate.

I also can browse the network and see the xp box listed but still get
prompted..

The XP was wiped recently and it worked just fine before the wipe.
Since then reinstall no dice. The XP box since the wipe is still named
the same as before.. I can connect to the win2kserver box from the xp
box no problem.

This should not be happening!

Any ideas?

Ok I found it. the first part of the problem was I had just used the
network wizard and it messed up my shares.

The main problem I had was getting access to hidden shares like C$ and
D$. You have to disable simple file sharing from Tools - Options -
View in My Computer..
