I'm building a new PC with a dual-core processor and I've read that I will
need to buy Windows XP Professional 'cause the Home edition doesn't support
dual-core CPU's, is this true?

Thanks!

No.

It won't support MULTIPLE processors, but it will support
hyperthreading and dual core.

No, it's not true.

It doesn't support two separate processors,, but it does support a dual-core
processor.
