Scalable processor support?

I want to make sure I'm not misreading/misunderstanding lit on the Windows
site re: xp professional. It seems that only the prof version supports dual
core processors and that the home or media versions wouldn't utilise the
second core. Is that correct? Is there any benefit to buying a dual core
processor then if you're using xp home/media versions?

Thx,

No, it's not correct. Both support dual-core processors. However only XP
Professional supports two separte physical processors.
