XP Home / Boot diskette problem

I want to make a boot up floppy that installs a cd-rom driver, so that on
the same disk I can place the DOS *.exe for Ghost 9.
I've had a look at Bootdisk.com and can't see what I want there.

....and to think that in Win98 I used to manually make my own boot up
floppy's with the oak*.sys driver on it, (in config.sys) and manually
configure the switches for autoexec.bat's mscdex.exe etc :-( !!!

Can I make use Bootdisk.com's 6 disc XP Home SP2 floppy diskette set, and
get them onto a bootable cd-r along with my Ghost DOS *.exe or is there an
easier way,

TIA, regards, Richard

....didn't explain that very well did i !

I want to make a bootable cd-r, using Nero, which means that I have to point
Nero to a XP Home bootable floppy so that it can make an *.ima file.
My XP Home is all up to date and is SP2, onto which I can place GB_PROG.EXE
which I'm guessing is Norton Ghost's' dos *.exe ...cutable !

One solution (That I use) is create a Boot Floppy. Include the DOS
mode generic CD-ROM drivers. I also create a 32-Megabyte size
RAM drive. Then I create a folder on my hard drive that holds the
DOS mode Apps. I then create a Bootable CD-R with the Floppy
and include the folder with the DOS apps. When you boot the CD-R
it creates the RAM Drive and then copies the applications into it.
This way when I run the applications they run from what appears to
be a physical drive and aren't limited by Read-Only media.

Thanx Ron,

I have looked at bootdisk.com and was left a little bewildered, which one
should I choose ? I already have a huge selection of W98se bootup floppies
with cd-rom *.sys driver in config.sys drivers and mscdex.exe in
autoexec.bat, so perhaps I should point Nero at one of those. But, so many
questions arise. My XP Home is on c:\, I have two 80gb hd's - drives c:
through k: ...all NTFS partitions so thinnking about it W98se and FAT32 is
out ?! .... or can I boot to W98se and then run Ghost's dos exe which can
hopefully handle NTFS drives ? I don't see how I can make use of the six
disk XP Home diskette set ...or is it only rhe first one I need to points
Nero at ?

....aha !!! also relevant is that I hadn't noticed that I had to "press a key
to boot from CD" !
....I wondered why it wouldn't boot ......where did that interrruption come
from ...hadn't ever noticed that b4 ? !!

....life is wonderful, after my IE6 getting broken tonight, and after putting
it off for WEEEEeeks I ghosted c:\ onto j:\ on the 15th !!!!
....so Norton recovery cd boot up ...overwrite c:\ with my bu image on j:\
...I'm feeling a little bit smug now !!

regards, Richard
