This laptop is on a static IP network at a business. All apps are web based.
I created a second account to get on Hotel networks while on business trips.
When I changed the tcp/ip to DHCP the settings in the original (business)
changed also. Is there a way to have one account DHCP and the other static?
OS is XP Home.

You can use the Alternate Configuration. Go to the Local Area Connection
and right-click it. Left-click on Properties and double-click on
TCP/IP. You'll see the Alternate Configuration on a tab at the top.
Configure it as you wish. I use this for my son's laptop which has a
static IP address on a different subnet than our home network. The home
network uses DHCP to assign dynamic IP addresses. This works well for
him - he just has to wait approx. 30 seconds at school for the
connection to time out and switch over to the Alternate Configuration.
