XP help!!!

I recently upgraded to XP and set up a user account. I
thought I made my new user the administrator but I cannot
install programs or anything. When I try to switch
accounts to use the administrator it's not there? How can
It won't let me delete my new user account either. Is
there a way to get my new account to be the
administrator, or somehow delete it?

Any help would be cool.
 
hi,

administrator accounts are not visible on the welcome
screen with additional accounts.

press ctrl+alt+del on the welcome screen to get the logon
screen and then type the word administrator in user
textbox and the password and then press enter. u will be
logged as administrator. and then u can make the changes.
