Hi all,

Not an expert on computers so need some help. I had a virus on my
computer that could not be got rid of so i ended up rebooting my whol
computer and reinstalling xp.

I put my new profiles on and started anew. However when looking throug
the files i found that the old profiles and their documents are still o
the computer (in documents and settings).

How has this happened?

And also, how can i get rid of the old profiles as i do not need the
anymore. Do i just delete them? The dont come up on the start menu
just have their files on the computer. If that makes sense?

Thanks

Hi Steve,

No great expert myself but just re-installing XP won't get rid of old files.
You most likely need to reformat your hard drive first and then reinstall
XP. However, a word of caution...read all help and documentation before
reformatting a hard drive. Incidentally even this way does not get rid of
some viruses!

Regards

Kev
