XP Hangs on Restart

I have XP Pro on a Dell Inspiron 8200 laptop. When I
click re-start, the computer shuts down and then after it
re-boots it hangs or freezes at a black screen AFTER it
goes though the black Windows XP startup screen. It
never gets to the blue "Welcome" screen. Then I have to
hold the power button down so it will re-boot. When it
does, it tells me windows did not start correctly the
last time and I have to choose "Normal Startup" and pray
it doesn't hang again.

This may sound simple, but it worked for me. Check and or reset your
clock and date once you do get to your desktop. I did that and the
hang stopped and it was buisness as usual.. hope it helps...
