xp freezes

xp pro freezes after install of microsoft critical
updates. does this randomly, and varies in terms of time
before it freezes. I've already wiped hd clean, and
reinstalled a handful of basic pgms.... any ideas?

sorry to know.I can only tell you that the critical
updates/hotfixes published by Microsoft are to ensure users
trouble free computing as well as providing maximum securities.
You haven't mentioned which critical updates caused you
problem.
You can't blame critical updates as you haven't seen in the
Event viewer application error logs what was the exact
reason behind freezing.
A computer may freeze due to several reasons.you have to
know the exact reason first then you can only solve.Lots of
third part softwares cause problems but people blame the OS
or the related critical updates.Please don't mind.I am not
saying anything against you.

256 MB of RAM memory is considered minimum for XP, so if
your PC has less than this, add more RAM. Because this can
be critical for multi-tasking stability, and check for
proper cooling too.
